The
GSM modem is an optional extra for the AXILOG. When you install the AXILOG
modem you can call the instrument from any PC that has a modem connected to a
telephone line. As soon as the connection is established, it is as if the AXILOG
is connected to the PC directly.
The modem required 6 ''D'' type batteries. The lifetime of the
batteries depends on the number of times that you connect to the AXILOG. The
batteries will last for about 1 month with average use.
For the GSM modem a sim card is required. This sim card should
provide data transfer service. You must obtain this sim card locally.
The modem is supplied in a robust housing. The AXILOG connects
to the modem through a 1:1 9-pin cable. This is the same cable that is used to
connect the AXILOG to a PC.
On the PC side you can use any modem. A modem that was
installed properly under Windows will automatically be shown as one of the
connection options in the PC software that comes with the AXILOG.
