An AXILOG
sensor contains 3 geophones that measure the
particle velocity in X-, Y-, and Z-direction. The sensors have a high nominal
sensitivity. The geophones are watertight. The housing has a spirit level that
can be used to mount it horizontally. The sensor can be mounted on the wall or
placed on the floor or ground.
The sensor has a cable of 4 metres. The cable has a
polyurethane jacket that will last for many years in the field. The cable is
only 6 mm in diameter and easy to handle.
Each AXILOG
is delivered with a calibration certificate. The
calibration is traceable to national standards. The AXILOG
system must be
calibrated regularly, yearly if used regularly, and it is recommended to
calibrate the system after severe overload of the sensor, for example when it
has been dropped hard on a hard surface.
There are two different types of sensors for the AXILOG.
The sensors have a different characteristic, especially at very low frequencies.
The AXILOG and sensor are calibrated together. It is possible to change the
sensor afterwards. The system is recalibrated then.
