RCS remote counter and switch

The RCS Remote Counter and Switch counts pulses and keeps the results in registers. The registers can be read-out through a built-in modem. The unit has open collector ouputs for remote control. Remote meter reading.

The Remote Counter & Switch counts pulses from meters with a pulse outputs, such as water meters, electricity meters, gas meters and heat meters. The RCS has a built in modem. The counter values can be obtained by calling the RCS with a PC. The RCS can automatically call and transmit the counter values at preset times and with a preset interval. The RCS has outputs that can be used to switch equipment on and off.

There is a special version of the RCS, the RCS-PV, that is can be used to manage (small) PV systems. The RCS-PV logs the energy yield of the PV system. When called, it immediately shows the momentary power of the PV system. More information.

Programmable functions.
The RCS can be programmed through the modem connection. The required PC software is included in the delivery. The programmable functions are:

	Set the time at which outgoing messages must be sent.
	Set a call back number.
	Set the interval time for the outgoing messages.

Security.
The RCS can automatically call back when called. The number that is called, is programmed into the RCS. This way it is impossible to read-out the information from any other than the programmed number.

PC software functions.
The RCS units in the field can be called with the PC software, to read-out the counter values. The software can also handle incoming messages from RCS units. The software receives the incoming calls, reads the data and stores the data on disk.

The data can be exported for further processing, i.e. with Excel.

The outputs of the RCS are controlled with the software. The status of the outputs is displayed on the screen.

The status of the inputs is also shown on the screen, so that inputs can be used not only as counter inputs, but as status inputs as well.
