Unit and software for management of PV systems

PV management.

There is a special version of the RCS, the RCS-PV, for the management / supervision of PV systems. The RCS-PV logs the PV system yield by counting E-meter pulses. It calculates the momentary power of the PV system. The power is displayed in the PC software as soon as there is a connection with an RCS-PV in the field.

For the management of PV systems, the software has the following functions:

	calls RCS-PV units in the field automatically (i.e. each day, week)
	reads out and stores the counter values
	automatically generates reports of the measured values
	automatically checks the performance of the system
	automatically sends a fax or e-mail with the reports and/or error messages

The RCS-PV and management software can be used cost-effectively for even very small PV systems.

A complete management system for PV systems consists of:

	An RCS-PV unit in the field. This unit must be connected to an E-meter that measures the yield of the PV system. It must also have a connection to an analogue telephone line. The telephone line can be shared with another user. The RCS-PV requires a mains outlet for the adapter that powers it.
	A PC with the RCS software and a modem that is connected to a telephone line.

The software will generally be programmed to call the RCS-PV units at night. After reading the data from the unit(s), the software automatically processes the data. Part of the data processing is a check on the yield. If the yield is below expectation, a message can be faxed or e-mailed. Reports can be send each day, week or month, depending on the demands of the user.
