Energy Information System
Solar hot water systems, PV
systems, heat pumps, combined power and heat generators and combinations of
these systems are used more and more. Application of these renewable energy
systems, and energy saving systems is useful only when it is made absolutely
sure that the systems are working properly. New techniques require new
monitoring and supervisory systems.
Integrated monitoring for all systems
The PRO-NET data acquisition system can measure all signals of renewable energy
systems. The system has interfaces for most equipment currently in use. All
information of a site can be combined in the data acquisition system, producing
synchronized data files with a standard format. Measured data can be presented
in real-time. Relay outputs can be used to control the system and/or produce
alarms.
Real-time information and reports
The EIS is usually connected to a telephone line. It can be called from a remote
location. The measured data can be viewed in real-time. The software can
automatically call all the systems in the field at a preset time (i.e. at night)
and retrieve measured data from it. The data can be stored, back-ups can be made
automatically, and the data can be processed. Processing can include a test on
each value in the data records, checking it on upper and lower limits. The data
can be processed further to reports, with totals, averages, minimum and maximum
values etc. over predetermined periods. The reports can be faxed or e-mailed
automatically to a list of recipients.
Service calls
The measured values are checked when they are retrieved from the
system. The system can be programmed to check the values in real-time an send a
message (sms) or close a relay contact if something is wrong. This can be used
for malfunctions that require urgent attention.
Maintenance
The system can generate notifications for maintenance automatically.
Based on hours of operation or system performance.
