DescriptionPRO-NET datalogger. PRO-NET is a programmable, modular data acquisition and control system.

PRO-NET is a modular data logger. A PRO-NET system consists of measuring stations that are interconnected by the PRO-NET network. A measuring station is configured around an I/O controller board that can have up to 8 I/O boards connected to it. There is a maximum of 30 I/O controllers in a PRO-NET network.

One or more I/O controllers and the I/O boards that are connected to them are placed in the PRO-NET housing. The housing is suited for industrial environments. If required, it can be delivered with class IP66 protection.

Theoretically, a PRO-NET system can be expanded to 1920 measuring channels. The practical range is a few to a few hundred channels.

 

The measuring- and control cycle of the system is executed by the so called master. The master manages the PRO-NET network. The measuring and control program is written on a PC and then downloaded into the master. The master can execute the program and store measured and calculated values in its database. The database can be read-out with a PC. The master can make any value available for real-time presentation. This does not interfere with the program execution.

The measuring program is written in a powerful and concise programming language. The master can make calculations, set and reset relay outputs, change the sample period, store data records, etc. The measuring program allows intelligent data acquisition which offers possibilities for data reduction and control over the measuring set-up through the relay outputs.

The PRO-WIN software, required for programming the system, is included in the delivery. PRO-SCAN is a program that allows real-time presentation of the measured values. PRO-SCAN can be used to make a PowerPoint-like presentation in which real-time measured values and calculated values can be included.

The PRO-NET system can be operated from a remote location through a modem. The system can be programmed, and data can be retrieved from it through the modem. The modem can be a regular telephone line modem or a GSM modem. Software that automatically calls a number of PRO-NET units at a preset time is delivered with the system.

With FETCHER 8 software, a completely automated remote supervision system can be made. FETCHER 8 is software that:

automatically sends reports and / or error messages by fax or e-mail

 

Applications

PRO-NET is successfully used in applications that require only a few to a few hundred of measuring channels. PRO-NET is suited to measure and supervise temperatures, humidity, air velocity, etc. in acclimatized warehouses, storage chambers, freezers and such. PRO-NET is also very suited for building automated test and calibration facilities due to the programmability and flexibility in the measuring cycle. The page applications describes the use of the PRO-NET system for management and supervision of renewable energy systems.

The INTELLI system , marketed worldwide by DiverseyLever International, is based on the PRO-NET system.

Because the measuring cycle is programmable, PRO-NET can adapt the measuring cycle based upon the  measured values. PRO-NET can, for example, store data just then, when the measured values indicate that there is a significant change in the measurements. This way, an enormous data reduction can be realized. 

PRO-NET has relay outputs. This can be used to bring the monitored equipment or process in a certain state and log the effects. The real-time screen can be used to follow the measuring process. This makes PRO-NET very suited as the basis of a automated calibration system.

PRO-NET can connect to external equipment through an RS-232 or RS-485 interface. The special interface board can be used for a number of devices. The protocol of new devices can be implemented. This way, the information of equipment with its own intelligence and data acquisition can be combined with other measured values, synchronized in time and in the same format.
